Website cost guide

How much does a website cost in the UK?

A website for an owner-led UK business costs from £1,999 with us. That is a starting price for a site of under 20 pages. This page sets out every price we charge, what it covers, and what pushes it up.

The short answer

What does a small business website cost?

With Client Junkie, a report on your current website costs from £199, a new website build costs from £1,999 one off, and keeping it hosted, updated and secure costs from £199 a month. Ongoing work to keep you found on Google and AI is optional, from £700 a month.

The honest answer to the question in the title is that it depends, and most web companies only tell you how after a sales call. We publish ours, so you can work out the cost before you speak to anyone.

Three things decide the price of a website: how many pages it needs, who writes the words and plans the structure, and what it has to connect to. Everything else is detail.

01

What changes the price

Pages, words and connections
01

How many pages

Our build price covers a website of under 20 pages. A firm with many services, locations or team profiles may need more, and we tell you the price before any work starts.

02

Who writes the words

A website is mostly words and structure. Our build includes brand and audience work, so the pages are planned around who is buying and what they need to see. Sites where the owner has to write everything cost less up front and often bring in less.

03

What it connects to

An online shop, a booking system or a link to your CRM adds work. If you need one, we say so and price it before we start, not halfway through.

04

What happens after launch

A website is not a one off cost. It needs hosting, updates and security, and it needs to keep being found. That is why we price the build and the monthly care separately, so you can see each one.

What our prices cover

Every figure, in one place
  1. 01

    The report, from £199

A plain English report on your current website: how easy it is to find on Google and AI assistants, and what is stopping visitors from getting in touch. If you go ahead with a build, we take the fee off the price.

  2. 02

The build, from £1,999 one off

Brand and audience work, plus a website of under 20 pages, built to be found on Google and AI and to turn visitors into enquiries. We run the same report again when it is live, so you see the difference.

  3. 03

    Maintenance, from £199 a month

Hosting, updates and security, with content changes as needed. There is no minimum term.

  4. 04

    Visibility, from £700 a month

Optional ongoing work to keep you found on Google and AI, with a monthly report showing what changed. There is a three month minimum term.

The evidence

Rossair

Rossair is a UK HVAC and building services contractor that has been trading for 50 years. Its old website produced no enquiries. After we rebuilt it, the website brought in over 40 direct enquiries from blue chip companies in two months.

Builds from £1,999. No guarantees.

Every price is published on our homepage. Nobody can honestly promise you a top spot on Google or a set number of enquiries. What we will do is show you what is wrong before you commit to anything, tell you what we will change, and show you the difference afterwards.

Questions

Answered before you ask
How much does a website cost in the UK?

It depends on the number of pages, the writing and what the site connects to. With Client Junkie, builds start from £1,999 for a website of under 20 pages. A report on your current website costs from £199, and the fee comes off a build.

Why do website prices vary so much?

Because websites are different jobs. A one page template and a 20 page site planned around who is buying are not the same work. The questions to ask any supplier are how many pages are included, who writes the content, what is covered after launch and what the monthly cost is.

Are there ongoing costs after the website is built?

Yes. A website needs hosting, updates and security. Our maintenance plan covers all three from £199 a month with no minimum term. Ongoing work to keep you found on Google and AI is optional, from £700 a month with a three month minimum.

Will you give me a price before I commit?

Yes. The starting prices are published, and if your site needs more than the standard build we give you the price before any work starts.

Is a website builder cheaper?

A website builder can cost less up front. The trade off is that you do the planning, writing and search work yourself, and nobody checks whether the result is found on Google or AI. We build the site for you and report on how it performs before and after.

Start with a report on your website.

We look at the website you have now and tell you, in plain English, what is stopping it being found and what is stopping enquiries. No call needed, and nothing to sign.

The report costs from £199. If you go ahead with a build, we take it off the price.
